Old Ladies Against Underwater Garbage
|
|
| Let it never be said that we are too old to make a difference, says Susan Baur who is the founder of OLAUG (Old Ladies Against Underwater Garbage) in Cape Cod, Massachusets. She has been a swimmer for over fifty years and on many of those outdoor swims in local ponds, she witnessed the damage done by trash dumped into the water. She and her swimming friends decided to take it upon themselves to “save the planet one pond at a time” by cleaning up their beloved swimming holes. They are a self-described “quirky, fun, and feisty” group of older women who aren’t letting age or trash get in their way of living a life of purpose and fun. |
