How I Imitate Nature's Voices

How I Imitate Nature’s Voices

Listening is what allows the indigenous artist Snow Raven to hear the sounds of nature from a place deep within her heart. In her homeland of the Republic of Sakha Yakutia in Siberia, people greet each other with a word that translates to "I greet the universe in your person." In this spirit of listening, Snow Raven is able to hear the unique language of many different creatures and translate that into sounds that seem to capture the essence of each animal or element. In a spellbinding talk and performance, singer Snow Raven mimics the hoot of an owl, the grumble of a bear, the howl of a wolf, the whistling wind, and more.
