Meet the Bicycle Mayors Making Cities Around the World More Bike-Friendly

In cities worldwide, Bicycle Mayors like Maren Ahlers in Addis Ababa are pedaling for change, making urban areas more bike-friendly and sustainable. Ahlers, originally avoiding public transport with her bike, now leads a movement that has taught over a hundred women to cycle and advocates for cycling infrastructure. With the title of Bicycle Mayor, these leaders bridge the gap between communities and governments, advocating for safer streets and environmental benefits. Ahlers envisions accessible cycling with local workshops and an importer for affordable bikes.
