The Organic Food Company That Puts Ex-Offenders Back to Work
While many employers avoid hiring those who were formerly incarcerated, one Pennsylvania company actively seeks them out. Lancaster Food Company makes a point of finding and hiring people who need help getting back on their feet. According to founder Mike Miles, it’s a segment of the population that needs jobs just like anyone else, and should not be denied the chance to live healthy and productive lives. While he had already started successful technology companies, Miles realized that with a food company he could create opportunities for a real and neglected section of society. Lancaster Food Company is rapidly expanding, and not one employee has quit.
