Former Football Star Farms for Good
|
| In 2012, Jason Brown, #60 for the St. Louis Rams, walked away from a 5-year, 37 million dollar contract to be a farmer. The former NFL center had never farmed before, but that didn’t stop him from purchasing a 1,000 acre farm in the outskirts of Louisburg, North Carolina. In keeping with the name of his farm, First Fruits Farm, Brown donates the entire 5-acre harvest – 100,000 pounds – of sweet potatoes to local food pantries. "When I think about a life of greatness, I think about a life of service… Love is the most wonderful currency that you can give anyone." |
